Woman Raped by Multiple Men Outside Surrey Church
A woman in her 20s was subjected to a horrific sexual assault by multiple men outside a church in Surrey in the early hours of Saturday morning. The victim had just left Labyrinth Epsom nightclub when she was followed and attacked between 02:00 BST and 04:00.
Police Investigation Underway
The assault is believed to have taken place outside Epsom Methodist Church on Ashley Road, Epsom. Detective Inspector Aine Matthews confirmed, "We understand this is an extremely distressing incident and the victim is being supported by specialist officers."
Surrey Police stated that extensive enquiries are underway to identify and locate the perpetrators. While full descriptions of the suspects are not yet available, officers are working diligently to gather information. "Our investigation is in its early stages," Det Insp Matthews added. "We are working at pace to develop our picture of the suspects, and we will share details as soon as we are able to."
Authorities are appealing for public assistance, urging anyone who was in the Ashley Road area between 2am and 4am and may have seen or spoken to a distressed woman in her 20s to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police immediately.
