LeCun, who serves as Meta's chief AI scientist, asserts that despite their impressive capabilities, present models merely mimic intelligence rather than possess it.
Limitations of Current AI
LeCun highlights the inability of existing AI to reason or plan effectively in unfamiliar scenarios. He cites the example of an AI-powered self-driving car that would struggle immensely if placed on the moon, contrasting this with a human child's innate capacity for quick adaptation and learning. Introducing 'World Models'
The proposed solution from LeCun is the development of 'world models'.
