Common Bond, owner of Barrecore and Boom Cycle fitness studios, has suddenly ceased operations, informing customers via email that all locations are closed "until further notice".
John Ashby has received a life sentence, with a minimum of 14 years, for the rape and religiously aggravated assault of a Sikh woman in her Walsall home in October 2025. The court heard Ashby, 32, subjected his victim to sustained violence and anti-Muslim abuse, wrongly believing her to be Muslim.
A High Court judge has ruled that statements made by Essex Police and Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst regarding an investigation into journalist Allison Pearson for alleged incitement of racial hatred may be defamatory. The investigation, initiated in November 2024 after a post on X, was later dropped.
