
Caledonian Isles Ferry Evacuated at Brodick After Bomb Threat and Man Overboard Incident
Passengers were disembarked from the MV Caledonian Isles ferry at Brodick after a reported bomb threat on the vessel. Concurrently, emergency crews were dispatched following a report of a person overboard from the 16:40 sailing to Ardrossan.
Coastguard rescue teams, a Royal Navy bomb disposal unit, and Police Scotland were all mobilised to the scene. Lifeboats from Arran and Troon also attended the incident.
A man was successfully rescued from the water. Police Scotland confirmed their attendance at Brodick ferry terminal following an alert regarding the man overboard and an alleged threat.
Ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne confirmed that all passengers and vehicles were safely disembarked at Brodick. Caledonian MacBrayne stated the vessel would remain out of service whilst investigations were carried out, impacting scheduled sailings.
