
Wildfire Reveals Woman's Body in Greater Manchester Park, Police Launch Murder Inquiry
A murder inquiry has been initiated after human remains were discovered following a wildfire in a Greater Manchester park. Emergency services were called to a fire at Reddish Vale Country Park in Stockport on Sunday, 26 May. The blaze, which involved trees and undergrowth, was extinguished by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
The remains were found by a member of the public the following day, Monday, 27 May, at approximately 17:00 BST. Police, including forensics officers, attended the scene. A post-mortem examination has confirmed the remains belong to a woman, believed to be aged between 25 and 45 years old.
Detectives from Greater Manchester Police are now working to identify the woman and ascertain the precise cause of death. The incident has led to a significant police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
