Daniel Thomas Charged Over English Channel Dinghy Slashed Incident

Anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas has been charged in connection with an incident in the English Channel last Tuesday, during which a dinghy carrying migrants was allegedly slashed.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the charges against Thomas, who is accused of criminal damage and common assault. The incident, filmed and circulated online, showed an individual on a jet ski approaching a small inflatable boat in the Channel and appearing to cause damage to its pontoon with a knife. The dinghy was reportedly carrying up to eight individuals attempting to cross to the UK.

Footage also showed the individual on the jet ski allegedly spraying a liquid at those aboard the dinghy. Following the incident, migrants on the damaged vessel were intercepted by Border Force officials and brought to shore.

Thomas was arrested shortly after the event and has since been held for questioning. He is expected to appear in court later this week.
