Former Taunton Town Chairman Karl Lindsay Pleads Guilty to Perverting Course of Justice, Voyeurism
Karl Lindsay, the former chairman of Taunton Town Football Club, has pleaded guilty to charges of perverting the course of justice and voyeurism. The charges stem from an incident where a woman was drugged and subsequently raped by herband.
Lindsay, 53, who resigned from his position at the non-league Somerset club prior to his formal charging, entered his pleas at Bristol Crown Court. He is accused of knowing about, and facilitating, the assault. The details surrounding his specific involvement in the drugging and subsequent rape, as well as the perversion of justice, are expected to emerge more fully during future proceedings.
The club confirmed Lindsay's resignation earlier this year, stating it was for "personal reasons." This legal development underscores the serious allegations faced by a figure once prominent in local football. A sentencing date is yet to be announced.
