Janes Pantry Acquires Twenty Coughlans Bakery Sites Following Chain's Collapse

Janes Pantry, a bakery enterprise, has confirmed its acquisition of more than 20 sites previously operated by Coughlans Bakery. The announcement follows the recent closure of the Coughlans chain, which had been owned by comedian Robert White since 2022.

The Gloucestershire-based Janes Pantry intends to reopen these former Coughlans outlets, a decision expected to reinstate employment for a significant number of staff and restore bakery services to the affected communities.

Coughlans Bakery, established in 1937, entered administration on 22nd May, ceasing trade and leading to immediate job losses across its branches. Robert White, known for his appearances on Britain's Got Talent, had acquired the struggling business in an effort to revitalise it.

This acquisition by Janes Pantry represents a direct response to the void left by Coughlans' collapse, with the company signalling its intention to commence operations at the newly acquired sites swiftly.
