Metropolitan Police Offer £20,000 Reward in 2022 Brothel Murder Investigation
The Metropolitan Police have announced a £20,000 reward for information that results in the conviction of the individuals behind the murder of Jinming Zhang. Mr. Zhang, 41, was found deceased with multiple stab wounds on 9 February 2022, inside a flat on South Quay, East London, which authorities suspect was operating as a brothel.
Detectives stated that Mr. Zhang was killed between 20:00 GMT on 8 February and 09:00 GMT on 9 February 2022. Forensic examinations indicated signs of a struggle within the premises.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John appealed to the public, particularly those who may have frequented the brothel or have connections to individuals involved in the sex work industry, to come forward. Investigators believe the flat was advertised on websites catering to sex work and that Mr. Zhang was likely working there.
Two individuals, a 34-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the case. Both were subsequently released under investigation. Police continue to analyse CCTV footage and other evidence, urging anyone with relevant information to contact them directly or provide anonymous tips via Crimestoppers.
