Nottingham Forest Player Callum Hudson-Odoi Fined £1,155 for Untaxed McLaren Supercar
Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been directed by a court to pay over GBP#1,100 after his conviction for failing to tax his McLaren supercar.
The 25-year-old Premier League footballer was pursued by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) over the unpaid levy on his McLaren 765LT.
Court documentation reveals Hudson-Odoi became the registered keeper of the high-performance vehicle in February 2024, with its annual tax expiring at the close of January 2025. The DVLA stated the McLaren remained untaxed nine months later, observed on Southmill Street in Manchester at 08:50 GMT on 29 October.
The DVLA confirmed Hudson-Odoi was offered an opportunity to resolve the matter outside of court but did not respond to the proposition. Consequently, he faced criminal prosecution for operating a vehicle without a valid licence.
Hudson-Odoi did not submit a plea and was found guilty at York Magistrates' Court on 20 April, following a fast-track hearing conducted privately under the Single Justice Procedure. Magistrate Karen Shackleton mandated the footballer pay a GBP#660 fine, GBP#410 in back tax, and GBP#85 in associated costs.
This conviction emerged shortly after it was announced Hudson-Odoi would miss the remainder of Forest's season due to surgery for a leg injury. The player, who joined Forest from Chelsea in 2023, has netted six goals in 43 appearances this season.
