Strictly Come Dancing Star Cleared of Rape Allegations
Strictly Star Will Not Face Rape Charges
An individual associated with the popular BBC programme Strictly Come Dancing, who was arrested in October 2025 on suspicion of rape, will not be prosecuted. Hertfordshire Police confirmed today that, following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, detectives concluded there was insufficient evidence to bring forward criminal charges.
The man, whose identity has remained anonymous, was initially released on bail pending further investigation. His bail was subsequently extended to allow for comprehensive enquiries.
Police Statement
In an official statement, Hertfordshire Police said: "There will be no criminal charges brought against an individual arrested by Hertfordshire Constabulary in London on Monday 13 October 2025 on suspicion of rape. The man, who had his bail extended on Tuesday 6 January until today, Tuesday 7 April 2026, to allow further enquiries to take place, will face no further action. Early advice was sought from the Crown Prosecution Service, but detectives determined that there was insufficient evidence to bring forward criminal charges."
This development is understood not to be related to the most recent series of the dance competition, which is filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
