Teenager Rescued After Boat Capsizes in Alaskan Waters, Two Others Die
A 15-year-old boy has been rescued after his fishing vessel capsized in Alaskan waters. The teenager was found days after the incident, during which his older brother, aged 21, and a 20-year-old cousin perished. The United States Coast Guard confirmed the rescue and the recovery of the two bodies.
The three individuals had departed on a fishing trip on 11th April. The Coast Guard initiated a search operation after they failed to return as scheduled. Their 18ft vessel was discovered overturned, prompting an extensive aerial and maritime search effort across the remote region.
The boy was located clinging to debris from the capsized boat. He was reportedly suffering from severe hypothermia but is now recovering in hospital. The incident underscores the inherent dangers of maritime activities in the harsh Alaskan environment.
