Ten NHS Staff Sacked Over Noah Woods Patient Data Breach at East Suffolk and North Essex Trust
Ten National Health Service (NHS) staff members have been removed from their positions at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust after an investigation into an unauthorised patient data access incident. The breach involved the medical records of Noah Woods, a patient whose information was accessed inappropriately in March 2024.
The Trust confirmed that an “urgent and comprehensive” inquiry was launched immediately upon discovery of the breach. This internal investigation led to the identification of staff who had viewed Mr Woods's sensitive medical data without legitimate clinical need or authorisation.
