Uganda Withdraws Participation from Prince Harry's Invictus Games Tournament
Uganda has formally withdrawn from Prince Harry's Invictus Games. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the country's Chief of Defence Forces, confirmed the decision. This announcement comes only two months after Uganda had declared its intent to participate in the international adaptive sports competition for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.
The withdrawal impacts 10 Ugandan athletes who were engaged in preparation for the Games. Further details regarding the reasons for this abrupt change of plans have not been publicly elaborated by Ugandan authorities. The Invictus Games Foundation has yet to issue a statement addressing Uganda's departure.
