West Yorkshire Police Detain Man 22 Years After Tyrone Clarke's Leeds Murder
A man has been arrested by West Yorkshire Police in connection with the 2004 murder of teenager Tyrone Clarke. Clarke, aged 16, was fatally stabbed in Beeston, Leeds, 22 years ago.
The victim was attacked by a group of approximately 20 individuals in Brett Gardens on 22 April 2004. He was pursued and assaulted with various weapons, including metal poles and planks of wood, with CS spray also deployed during the incident.
Following the initial investigation, three men and a 17-year-old boy were convicted and subsequently jailed in 2005 for their involvement in Clarke's death. Police confirmed on Sunday that a further arrest had been made, with the man currently held in custody.
Lorraine Fraser, Tyrone's mother, expressed profound weariness over the protracted struggle for justice. "I want to get on with my life as much as I can, I don't want this anymore but I feel like I have to carry on for my son," she stated. Fraser appealed for anyone with additional information to come forward, remarking, "My son was brutally murdered, and I've had to live with that for 22 years. I'm getting older now. I'm not as young as I was. I've got a broken heart."
