Merseyside Police Arrest Third Man in Probe After Cyclist George Glover Dies
Merseyside Police have arrested a third man as part of their murder investigation following the death of cyclist George Glover. The 27-year-old was reportedly punched on Netherton Way, Bootle, on the evening of Thursday, 17 August. Mr Glover was transported to hospital but died from his injuries on Sunday.
Detectives confirmed on Monday that a 28-year-old man from Bootle was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently being held for questioning. This follows the earlier arrests of two other men, aged 32 and 27, also from Bootle, both on suspicion of murder. They have since been released on conditional bail.
Emergency services were called to Netherton Way at approximately 19:00 BST after reports of an assault. Police had initially stated that Mr Glover was riding his bicycle when he was attacked. The incident has led to a sustained police presence in the area as investigations continue.
