
Two Men Re-arrested in Connection with Death of Soldier Liam Potts
Lancashire Police have confirmed the re-arrest of two men in connection with the death of Private Liam Potts, 22. Mr Potts was discovered unresponsive in the early hours of 22 July on Westgate in Leyland and pronounced dead at the scene. He was serving with the 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
Initially, police arrested two men, aged 23 and 25, on suspicion of murder last month. Both individuals were subsequently released on bail. Following further investigation, the same two men were re-arrested on Friday, 11 August, on suspicion of manslaughter. They remain in custody for questioning.
A post-mortem examination was conducted, but the official cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Mr Potts's family has described him as the "heart and soul of any room" and a "beautiful, kind, and loving" son.
