Chepstow's Historic Wye Bridge Reopens to Pedestrians, Vulnerable to Extreme Temperatures
The 210-year-old Wye Bridge linking Chepstow, Wales, and England has partially reopened for pedestrians and cyclists, after being closed since October due to structural cracks. The Grade I listed cast-iron structure remains highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, mandating closures if temperatures exceed 30°C or fall below -3°C. Full vehicular access remains suspended.
